Local Farms in the valley
The Sequim-Dungeness Valley has a variety of farms to visit or tour: the Olympic Game Farm, Purple Haze Lavender Farm, the Cedarfield Ostrich Farm, Graysmarsh Berry Farm, and Cedarbrook Herb Farm are but a few.
The Olympic Game Farm offers a year-round driving tour and summer walking tour which allow you to get face to face with, and even feed many wild animals. Zebras, yaks, bears, llamas, elk, wolves, cougars, and even a herd of buffalo will surely make you smile. Children of all ages enjoy this close-up look at the animals. Driving time is 15 minutes from Sequim city center.
Purple Haze Lavender Farm is open all year but between June and September you can pick your own bunch of lavender. Lavender gifts are made on the premises. Driving time is 5 minutes from the Sequim Visitor Center.
The Cedarfield Ostrich Farm gives your kids the opportunity to see what Big Bird really looks like. Tours by appointment May through September. Driving time is 15 minutes from the Sequim city center. Call (360) 683-1837.
Graysmarsh Berry Farm has strawberries in early summer and raspberries (no thorns) in late summer, available for U-pick (June through August). Take the kids and just pick enough to have as dessert in the evening, or gallons to make your favorite jams and jellies. A famous American chef once said the best berries in the US are grown on the Olympic Peninsula. Pick some yourself and you'll know why we think this is true. Driving time is 10 minutes from Sequim city center.
The Cedarbrook Herb Farm offers herbs and flowers for planting, everlastings (dried flowers), lavender products and Elephant Garlic among other interesting garden products. Open every day (closed January). Driving time is 5 minutes from Sequim city center.
There are several flower farms where you can pick your own bouquet in season such as the Cutting Garden. The Garden and Farms page of this site or the Farm Guide at the Visitor Center can give you more information on these and other farms.
